There are two categories, the My Grey Challenge and the Free Challenge. For both you should have a at last partially functional prototype. audEERINGs emotion technology has to be included so that a player can interact with your game via voice.
For the My Grey Challenge, the game should have communicative, realism and interactivity features. The customization and community features are optional. The game should have at least one level (quest, scenario) which would flow with beginning, process and ending.
For the Free Challenge, the game should be a MVP (Minimum Viable Product) which means it must demonstrate one functionality clearly. For example, if you are a battle commander, you might want to start with a little storytelling, depict the battle, ask the commander to do the motivational talk and then show the effect in the troops. Based on the motivations, that level of motivation would determine the output of the battle (showing victory or defeat). This demonstrates a scenario in which motivation detection is depicted as a minimum viable product in a game.
